Sportfishing on the Pacific Coast
When considering the wonderful sport of fishing on the Pacific Coast, there are several things to consider. Let's talk about the destinations and the various fish that can be found.
There is Hawaii, where the fish include the Ono, Kaku, Ulua and Lai. Further from shore, there are Ono, Tuna, Marlin and Mahi Mahi. These can all be enjoyed while fishing on the Pacific Coast. On the coasts of Washington, Oregon and California, there are salmon (Chinook, Coho and King).
While visiting the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State, don't forget the Dungeness crab. Oregon and Washington also have rockfish, several varieties. The best time to enjoy fishing on the Pacific Coast is in the Spring and Summer, when the waters are warmer. Along the coast of California, enjoy pier fishing for bass, rockfish, halibut and even sharks and rays! Moving south to Mexico, enjoy the charters that leave from Mazatlan to enjoy fishing on the Pacific Coast for marlin (blue, striped and black varieties), tuna, sea bass, snapper and more! Central America, too, has wonderful fishing. In beautiful Costa Rica, there is tuna, mahi mahi, snapper, rooster and sailfish, along with marlin, wahoo and snook, with year round fishing here on the Pacific Coast.
