Big salmons Lakselv, Norway
The area is popular for salmon, trout, Arctic char, and grayling fishing throughout the summer months in the Lakselva river which runs through the village. There are also great hikingopportunities in the surrounding arctic wilderness, including in Stabbursdalen National Park just west of the village.
The Lakselva runs in the Finnmark county of North Norway and has for many years been an unknown fishing river in comparison with the bigger rivers in the area. In the recent years this pearl of salmon fishing has caught the attention of anglers that are looking for big salmon. The average water level is only 26 m3 but for the last years it has shown to be among rivers with the highest average number of big salmon per season and for the last two years many salmon between 40 and 50 lbs have been seen with the record standing at 55 lbs
